In our relationships, we experience many forms of distance—sometimes physical, sometimes emotional. But distance only becomes harmful when it turns into detachment.
Detachment means the invisible thread connecting us—like a ball of yarn—has thinned or broken. In that space, other people, emotions, and doubts can creep in. What we once embraced starts to irritate us, and warmth fades. Relationships can endure distance, but not detachment—and prolonged distance can lead to it.
Yet, some connections remain intact despite time apart. With certain friends, even after years, it feels like you just said goodbye—because the thread that binds you never weakened.

Flexible as water, they have endured the hardships of the ages, overcoming the barriers of prejudice and limitation. They have fallen to their knees, yet they have risen again. Hard as stone and soft as a breeze, they rise, discover, and are discovered every day.
Women—emerging with beauty from borders, centuries, and blood, they have elevated themselves. They are the gatekeepers of eternity.

The abstract work Awake will feature smooth, flowing shapes contrasted with sharp, directed elements, symbolizing the invisible yet decisive impact of the Queen of Stone. The interplay of these forms will create a sense of movement and energy, suggesting a force that is both unseen and unstoppable.
It represents a concept of femininity that deserves greater respect and acceptance in our lives.

This beautiful and inspiring stone sculpture depicts the body of a reclining nude woman, as if she has emerged from the depths of the earth and is gradually merging with it. The texture of the stone and the surface lines evoke a sense of softness and delicacy that contrast with the natural solidity of the material; this duality symbolizes the simultaneous power and grace inherent in femininity.
In this piece, titled Queen of Stone and presented at the Luxembourg Sculpture Symposium, the chosen stone represents endurance and resilience—qualities closely associated with femininity itself. Despite its sensitivity and gentleness, it remains inwardly strong and steadfast. This reclining figure, seemingly connected to the earth and natural elements, invites a deeper understanding of the relationship between humanity and nature, particularly emphasizing the role of women as givers and nurturers of life.

The work to be created is called Lady at Night —a stunning female form designed to evoke sensuality and movement. It emerges from the marble block with absolute subtlety and elegance.
The void, the absence of material, is associated with motherhood, fertility, and all the life that a woman can bring forth. It is also linked to the concept of the empty nest. However, for me, it represents a space that allows one to see beyond what is visible to the naked eye. It is an invitation for the viewer to look into the opening at the center of the body, the soul, of this woman.

In the sculpture, two women observe each other, creating a spiral movement with their bodies. They are born from the same form that supports them both, yet each is projected in the opposite direction. One gazes at the past, the other at the future, yet they remain connected in this transitional state.
They embody renewal and the desire for change—looking forward while remaining aware of their past. Together, they navigate the dynamic evolution of women’s roles in society. Their expressions, seemingly meditative and introspective, reflect a state of awareness and awakening.
The sculpture intertwines the power of transformation with the elegance of the feminine form, emphasizing collaboration and unity.
