Project title: Shared Roots
The three vertical forms rise and intertwine without ever fully merging. Each retains its own identity while finding stability through its relationship with the others. The sculpture thus becomes a metaphor for a community shaped by diverse origins, coexisting in a shared state of balance.
The inclined lines evoke a constant tension between strength and fragility, reflecting the search for stability in an uncertain global context. At the same time, the structure recalls the region’s industrial heritage: forms reminiscent of pillars and beams transform the memory of steel into a contemporary, organic expression.
Through its voids and intersections, the work celebrates diversity as a source of balance. It shows how different cultures, histories and identities can support one another while contributing to continuous growth and evolution.
His sculptural practice combines technical precision with monumental forms. Working primarily with stone, he explores tension, balance, movement and transformation. Shaped by international symposia and public art projects across several continents, his work responds to its environment while addressing universal themes. His sculptures translate invisible forces into tangible forms and invite contemplation of matter, energy and change.
ANDREJ MITEVSKI
Project title: Roots
The project takes the form of a circle because roots are connected not only through vertical lines, but also through metaphysical bonds linking us to our ancestors, our homeland and our beliefs. Closely connected to nature and to our inner selves, they represent a continuous process of attachment and growth in which everything is intertwined.
Born in Skopje in 1976, Andrej Mitevski graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Skopje, where he also completed postgraduate studies. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions across Europe and Asia. He has participated in numerous international sculpture symposia worldwide and has received several awards and public commissions for monumental sculpture and design.
Elena Saracino
Project title: Confluences
The sculpture symbolises confluence and interconnectedness, evoking both the branching structure of a root system and the idea of roots in a figurative sense.
These roots can be interpreted in many ways: as roads converging into a main artery, streams flowing into a river, or cultures coming together to form a civilisation.
Three pillars intertwine to create a harmonious and unified whole. This composition encourages mutual exchange as a source of progress and growth. The three points of support, culminating in forms reminiscent of rooftops, evoke origins, shelter and stability.
Every civilisation is shaped by encounters between peoples and by the convergence of cultures throughout history. Dynamism and stability are therefore closely intertwined at the heart of the work.
Born in Udine, Italy, in 1976, Elena Saracino is a sculptor whose work has been presented through solo exhibitions, artistic residencies and international sculpture symposia across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Her practice has earned several distinctions, including awards in China and Spain, as well as recognition at the Scogliera Viva competition in Caorle.

Project title: Growing roots
The work captures the compelling shapes of tangled roots in meticulous detail, transforming them into a striking artistic composition. It explores the profound interconnectedness found in nature.
Born in Jammu, India, in 1987, the artist has taught sculpture and fine arts at the universities of Kurukshetra and Jammu. His work has been presented internationally in France, Denmark, Türkiye, China, South Korea, Japan, Armenia, Romania and Egypt. They have received several national awards, scholarships and distinctions, including honours from India’s Ministry of Culture and major art foundations.
Sasho Sazdovski
Project title: Growth
The sculpture entitled Growth is a powerful symbol of the development and progress of the Differdange region.
Composed of four semicircular arcs rising from the ground, the work embodies the ideas of growth, unity and transformation.
The forms come together in a harmonious whole, evoking roots spreading through the earth before giving rise to a strong and stable stem. This natural process serves as a metaphor for the development of the community and the region over time.
The arcs also resemble horseshoes, creating a direct connection with the region’s rich blacksmithing and metallurgical heritage. They reflect the close relationship between industry and agriculture, two activities that have shaped the character of the area.
The sculpture celebrates the cooperation and unity of the people who have cultivated the region and transformed it into their home. Just as roots work together to support new growth, the residents of Differdange have joined forces to build a community they can be proud of.
More than a decorative work, Growth is a monument to progress and a reminder that lasting development is only possible through collective effort, both in nature and in human society.
Born in Skopje, North Macedonia, Sasho Sazdovski is a sculptor, graphic designer and professor of fine arts. A member of the Society of Macedonian Artists since 2000, he has exhibited internationally and participated in numerous sculpture symposia across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. His work has received several awards and is represented in public spaces and collections worldwide.
Zdravko Zdravkov
Project title: Fiery roots
The project, entitled Fiery Roots, symbolises the roots that connect people to their origins and homeland, as well as to moral foundations and family values. At the same time, its forms evoke flames, representing new ideas and freedom of thought. The composition is built from flowing shapes that create an airy interplay of light and shadow.
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1977, the artist holds a Master’s degree in Sculpture from the National Academy of Arts. A member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists since 2010, they have exhibited internationally and received several awards, including distinctions in Taiwan and Bulgaria. Their work has been presented at sculpture symposia across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas, and in public art projects such as the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
